'In the current sustainability discussion, the emphasis is increasingly on the technical performance of a building. It is precisely this aspect of the Centraal Beheer building that could provide a new impetus. The adaptability of the building, in combination with a special architecture, means a much longer service life than usual. This ultimately results in a much lower impact on the environment than a technically better building, which will be depreciated again after 10 years. The preservation of the Centraal Beheer building should therefore not be connected with historicising tendencies and nostalgia for the seventies, but with the future-oriented vitality of a lively building.
